We waited with many outside; seating would be sooner than a reservation. Service was lightening fast on everything we ordered. Our favorites were the fish nuggets and corn fritters. We were welcomed with a 4-item complimentary sampler.

Generous portions, amazing service, great ambiance. What more could you ask for? Probably one of my favorite dining experiences in NYC. My friend and I came to Her Name is Han during a winter day. Coming inside, we almost immediately felt the homey vibes and the food continued to reinforce that. It was like eating a korean homecooked meal. Even though it was busy, the service was prompt and our server was attentive. We got the meal set and it was great. Authentic, cozy, tasty.

The black sesame tofu was the star of the meal! It was really unique, super well balanced and great to eat with the strong flavoured spicy pork (which was also really yummy). The bibimbap was mid tho I wouldn't get it again. I do really wish they had some soup options that are personal sized tho. Portion sizes are also pretty big and the food isn't too pricy, would go again. The restaurant was good vibes and the service was fine.

We were looking for Korean fried chicken and chose her name is Han based on reviews and luckily were able to get a reservation calling on the same day. They also accept walk ins. The ambiance was very cute and good for a date night too. Service was prompt and the food came out pretty quickly! The KFC was a disappointment but everything else was amazing. If you was KFC I'd go somewhere else, we've had better elsewhere. The three appetizers we got were our favorites. The fried cod pieces were so flavorful and a great texture. The asparagus dish was delicious and a good vegetable to offset all the fried food we ordered. The pancake appetizer we got was also very flavorful. So much on the menu looked appetizing that I was interested in trying as well! They had one cocktail that could be made into a mock tail.

(Overall: B) - I decided to return to this restaurant for brunch and observed quite a small menu. Their lunch sets are quite interesting with nice flavor that contrast the dinner menu, but I would recommend visiting during the weekdays for more variety. (Baby Octopus Pasta Set: A+) - The octopus pasta set was quite an affordable option that provided lots of variety of food all relatively prepared well. The octopus was tender and paired well with the linguine, zoodles, and accompanying ponzu. The banchan are all refreshing as well with light flavors that do not overpower. I also liked the tempura egg that was well cooked and flavored with a dipping sauce. -- Food: +1 Presentation: +1 Price: +1 Atmosphere: E Service: E Menu: E Overall: +3 B Insta/Beli: @amei_eats

This place gets packed around 6 pm; luckily, my boyfriend and I were able to snag a table for 2. Make sure your entire party is there at the same time. KFC, small (10/10): my boyfriend and I loved how juicy the chicken was and the sauce that came with it. The breading on the chicken was not too much but added lovely texture. Spicy raw marinated crab (9/10): meaty and soaked up in a gochugaru-fish sauce marinated. It was also actually spicy, which I appreciate. I deduct 1 from the rating since it wasn't really notable or distinguishable from raw marinated crab you could get at HMART for less money and more crab. Jeju island (10/10): very beautiful drink, strong and delicious. Refreshing too! The seating in this place is gorgeous, I love the little lamps and dimmed lighting. The music was a bit odd, I thought it was a more formal restaurant, but the music gave it a more casual, relaxed vibe. My experience was honestly nothing spectacular, the food was quality but not unique to me. It was also priced a little higher to match the elevated setting that it's in. I would love to try some of their other menu items sometime the next time I'm in New York that I can't find elsewhere.

4.5 / 5.0 - I came to Her Name Is Han for lunch with coworkers and we could see why it's so popular. They have a cool, stylish decor, excellent service and tasty food. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi Hot Pot ($20+), which has clear veggie broth with beef bulgogi, noodles, zucchini, mushroom, onions & bok choy. For lunch, all of their hot pots are served with white rice, mixed green salad, 3 side dishes, salad kimchi, potato salad and topping tofu. I loved having the variety of flavors from the different dishes and it was quite filling. Can't wait to try more dishes next time!

First went to this place for lunch and got the garlic chicken bbq, which was tasty but pretty normal Korean food. Then went to dinner and it was on a whole other level! Banchan (4/5) - The star is the potato salad. Very creamy with a touch of sweetness and bits of apple inside. We asked for like 11 free potato salads. There was also kimchi and shredded potato, both just ok. Kimchi pancake (5/5) - This is such a delightfully surprising dish for me. It is sour, has a nice kick, buttery (with the cheese inside?) to complement the spicyness perfectly, and creamy from the perfectly cooked egg. The pancake itself has great texture, soft on the inside and crispy on the edges. Absolutely amazing for a dish! Galbi hot pot (5/5) - It was much thicker chunks of meat than normal galbi, so it was bursting with savoriness but still very tender with nice fatty parts. The broth was rich in flavor and slightly sweet, but not overly heavy. It is a perfectly light soup. Japchae (1/5) - Blandest and dryest Japchae I've ever eaten. The waiter said it is spicy... it was not. The noodles have a slight sourness, but have zero oil at all (normally it would be coated in some sesame oil), so it was so hard to mix everything together. Spicy pork bulgogi (5/5) - The pork was coated in a spicy, sweet, sour, absolutely delectable sauce. The pork was tender, fatty, and slightly crispy from the sear. Paired with some greens for a refreshing balance, it is so rich and bursting with flavor, perfect over a bowl of rice.

In 2015, I ate lunch at Her Name is Han with a few friends, and thoroughly enjoyed some sweet and sour chicken fried rice, dumplings, and more. Then I promptly forgot to come back for nine years. Turns out that Han (if that's her real name) is doing just fine without me. We came back very recently, and there's a line out the door before they open for lunch at noon. And no wonder, because the lunch sets (and everything else) are interesting and beautiful and tasty. I rolled with the garlic chicken option, and said chicken was absolutely delicious. It was probably my favorite bite here, although the corn croquettes and the fried mushrooms we started with are serious rivals there as well. We also added on some KFC because I like stuffing myself to the point of pain, but the lunch sets alone are plenty of food. That day, it also came with some seaweed soup, seaweed salad, kimchi, tofu (excellent), a salad, some rice, and more. Personally, I was not enamored with the seaweed soup, but just about everything else hit the spot. I love banchan in general, because tasting a lot of different things is better than tasting few things. My friends were equally pleased with their mackerel sets, the bulgogi bibimbap option, and all of our starters. The service was also stellar, and I truly appreciate that they sat three of us while our fourth struggled in from New Jersey. Let's normalize seating almost complete parties, especially when they're going to order food and drink right away. Hopefully it won't be nine years before I come back again.
